He is a native New Yorker. Ben combines art and science in a context of memorable advertising, creating alternate universes through the manipulation of mass and velocity. He directs and shoots Tabletop, Product & Live Action TV Commercials and Print which has taken his journey to five continents. He is world renown, and debatably, one of the best in the world for his mastery of liquid, cosmetic, fashion, beauty, and fine jewelry cinematography. He is equally regarded for his artful direction of models and talent. His creative and technical artistry is unrivaled, especially when it relates to high speed photography with liquids. Characterized by a powerful sense of energy, movement and design, his background as a choreographer profoundly influences his commercial work evidenced by his level of impeccable artistry, technical achievement, quality and depth of experience. His choreography of strong and subtle interactions between camera, talent, product, and light brings life to both his animate and inanimate subject matter. It is no mystery that his shelves are adorned with statues and accolades, including Emmys, Addys and AD&D awards.

In addition to his Commercial work, Ben directs Documentaries and Dance Films that have been featured in the Lincoln Center Dance On Camera Festival and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in NYC. Having been in the companies of Alvin Ailey and Twyla Tharp, he has danced at Lincoln Center in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 with the Buglisi Dance Theatre. The Harkness Dance Center, NYC recently featured his dance films and commercial work: harkness dance center presents the work of Ben Dolphin. He was also a revered instructor of Choreography for Camera at NYU School of the Arts, for 14 years.
